#Review I Feel You Linger In The Air Series, Containing Tears and Real Conflicts, BL Thailand Set in 1920!
I Feel You Linge In The Air (2023)
I watch many films and series from various countries and like to analyze films. I think I Feel You Linger In The Air series is one of BL Thailand series that has good screen writing, good production and acting quality.
I Feel You Linger In The Air or IFYLITA is a 2023 Thai BL series that has a specific time setting. IFYLITA has its own uniqueness compared to most Thai BL today. It's not a school setting story and drama conflicts are also not simple.
In the last 5 years, the Thai series has begun to increase the quota of the Indonesian and world markets. In the past, we only knew Thai horror films that were famous for being very scary. Then it began to enter a cute and funny romance series plus a school series wrapped in mystery or super powers. Lately, many Thai BL series have become popular.
So, what is IFYLITA about? Here's the synopsis my friends:
Jom, our mc is an architect who is given the responsibility of renovating a historic antique house in the northern region of Thailand. The house is next to the Ping River and is made of wood that needs special care. Inside the house, Jom found a wooden chest containing old pictures that were ordinary at first glance.
Jom was waiting for Ohm who had just returned from studying in England. He waited patiently for Ohm. Hopefully later they can build a dream house together where Jom is the one who designed the house. However, Jom's wait ran aground Ohm turned out to choose someone else as his life companion.
In the midst of this sadness and heartbreak, Jom drove his car and fell into the river. In a state of being between conscious and unconscious, Jom catches the sweet scent of fresh Cambodian flowers. There was also a soft voice calling out to him, "Pho Jom."
Jom, a young man from the modern world felt very difficult to be a lowly servant in that year. Moreover, he met a figure who looked like his ex in 1920 who was chasing the same woman as the modern one.
Fortunately Khun Yai and her elder sister were not human beings who looked down on the servants. Moreover, Khun Yai at that time felt a new feeling that was familiar to Jom. So Khun Yai helped Jom and Ming a lot in various circumstances.
Will Jom be able to return to his time in the modern world? What the meaning of the old images found by Jom in the wooden chest at the beginning of the episode?
My impressions of I Feel You Linger In The Air:
Well, at first I was hesitant about IFYLITA. How come it can be one of the series with high ratings. It turns out that the story is solid, interesting characters and based on the popular novel of the same name.
The cast is also very diverse. Khun Yai's family is the kind of ancient and wealthy family of antiquity. The dominant father, the obedient mother, the older sister who apparently hates her husband and Khun Yai herself who is considered less than perfect as the son of an official.
+ Cinematic & CG Animation 7/10. The cinematography is good. The pictures were clear.
+ Scoring 7/10. The music is immersive and supports the story.
+ Action 7/10. There were several scenes of light brawls.
+ Story plot 9/10. Delicious story. The plot of the story is quite dense with the uniqueness of Thai culture from the past.
Jom with his modern soul requires a lot of time and mental mind to get used to the lifestyle in Chiang Mai in the 1920s.
IFYLITA also doesn't just tell the story of Jom and Khun Yai. There is Khun Yai's older sister, Somjeed. With his intelligent mind, Somjeed didn't want to be just a display or a pretty doll for the family. SHe has his own feelings and ideals. There is an astonishing plot twist about Somjeed's relationship at the end of IFYLITA series.
+ Character 7/10. Jom played by Nonkul has a sincere character, actually smart but sometimes naïve for love affairs.
Khun Yai played by Bright has a good character and loves his family. He just didn't dare to fight his father and was less ambitious to take on the control of the family.
Somjeed is a smart and kind woman. He actually wanted to continue his education to a higher level but his parents wanted him to get married to build a political empire.
Ming is a good guy and helps Jom adapt to the chaos at the beginning of the story. Ming likes to drink when he is sad and likes to confide in Jom a lot.
Robert is Somjeed's arrogant and fierce husband. He has status and has quite extensive business connections. Robert later had a second wife.
Khamseen is the son of a small merchant who loves Robert's second wife. He is also Ohm, who is Jom's boyfriend in the modern world.
Khaimuk is Robert's second wife. Her character in the film IFYLITA is very interesting to pay attention. His behavior and ambitions are not easy to read. Khaimuk is one of the sad characters in my opinion.
